This Honey Garlic Chicken is a perfect blend of sweet and savory, requiring only 6 ingredients and 30 minutes of cooking.
With juicy, tender chicken thighs glazed in a sticky honey-garlic sauce, this meal will quickly become a family favorite. Serve it with rice or steamed veggies for a complete dinner under $10.
Ingredients
4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs (about 1 lb)
1/4 cup honey
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
(Optional) Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
Step 1
Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken thighs and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side until browned and fully cooked. Remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
Step 2
In the same pan, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
Step 3
Stir in the honey and soy sauce, mixing well. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Step 4
Return the chicken thighs to the pan, coating them in the honey garlic sauce. Let them simmer for another 2-3 minutes until fully glazed.
Step 5
(Optional) Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving. Serve hot with rice or your favorite side.
Tips
For extra crispiness, sear the chicken thighs at high heat before simmering them in the sauce.
Want a veggie boost? Add steamed broccoli or snap peas on the side.
